You'd have to assume that any oil platforms that survived Katrina will also survive Rita. The only question that likely remains is the ports and the ability to unload tankers post-Rita. That's the big uncertainty, IMO.
I'm also impressed by the low pressure of this storm. Since this is the most hurricanes since 1933, I wonder if there's a supercycle for hurricanes like the stock market 70-year supercycle <G>
