Not surprisingly, Rackspace has existing relationships with the storage behemoths EMC and Netapp. Rackspace is taking the cloud very seriously. The key to their success is to differentiate their OpenStack offerings. It remains to be seen how IceCLOUD and IceSTORM fit (or don't fit).

These potential long term relationships may be what Sig was focused on prior to his departure. It appears that the rumored relationship with Fusion-IO was lost to Netapp. The Rackspace and Samsung relationships are still in play in my opinion.
