I no longer think it's possible that Apple's "stainless steel" could be an amorphous alloy. It seems its strength is achieved through the forging process, which would not be necessary with an amorphous alloy.

I still think the leaked pictures of the supposed new Iphone case look a lot like the nitride coated stainless steel band in the Iphone 4 and 4S.

And it would still be nice if either Apple or Liquidmetal came up with an Iron based amorphous alloy with a good glass forming ability, high strength, and toughness.
