I mean what's the difference if they delivered counterfit/illegal/invalid shares(choose your descriptor) or freaking cheeseburgers. In the end, they've sold what they purported to be BCIT shares with the appropriate CUSIP symbol, which in fact weren't. Is it to be caveat emptor now in the securities market? with no assurances that what you think you are buying, with the appropriate CUSIP number, may in fact be a forgery? Are shareholders supposed to validate certs before buying a stock now? there has to be a mechanism built into the system to protect shareholders.. and there is... the buy-in rules, which the SEC has seen fit to susend. Protecting the investor again, I guess.
