What happend to our previous chairman Przemyslaw Kostro ?

I am happy that we have our current chairman to be of such a high profile. (at least it looks that way on paper) but it would have been polite to mention what has happened to previous chairman. It' relavant and important in my opinion.
I mean GTE changes chairman's as fast as socks. Hilton, Kostro.
What is the official job description of chairman ?
