Biology is tremendously more complicated than writing software. Our understanding of molecular biology and how the body works is very primitive. If there were easy ways to predict how complex molecules behave in the body, you wouldn't see the constant stream of companies with investigational drugs that fail the safety and efficacy tests. There are people trying to make models that will be more predictive, and eventually somebody will succeed. The unknown is how long "eventually" will be.
