This may be elementary, so I do apologize to those brilliant minds in the medical field here... I am curious about the technology and science of these days. During pre-clinical testing in vitro and in vivo, shouldn't the technology of today be able to estimate if a drug will be toxic within a human? Or shouldn't one of these brilliant Doctors who are apart of CTIX and the board have the experience to tell whether a certain compound looks so outrageous and has even said it is something they have never seen before? and that hold true in human trials?

I know everything is speculation and I understand.

BUT, for some reason my brain cannot comprehend the dynamics of bio-pharmaceuticals... I would think it would be like math and all it would take is to find the right mix to equal a miracle...
2+2=4 (everytime) Testing a certain drug over and over in vitro and in vivo and you get a certain result and that certain result should equal a specific result in human...etc...I would think we have come this far to be able to calculate/predict results and come within a close margin!

I guess on the other hand I can look at this way...I am in software and technology...so when my developers/programmers add new code to the program, one would think that it should do exactly what the code is written to do, however it may have effects on other parts of the program that no one knew and therefore we have extensive UAT testing to make sure we don't throw up errors in other sections or possibly break down the system all together...

Anyways, I just am curious I guess, I would think with the technology in science these days, if something showed non-toxic...it would be non-toxic :)

Any thoughts or 2nd grade mentality comments would be appreciated, otherwise, congrats to all the peeps whom have been here for the past year-years! This is very exciting!

Cheers
