Help - random system freeze.
My system freezes up with no messages logged to any event files. The mouse and keyboard stop working. Cannot enter task manager. The only way out is to power off.
I have read a number of posts on the ASUS support site but nobody seems to have a solution. I suspected the GDI+ detection tool but can't find out how to remove it.
System:
ASUS P4P800E Deluxe
Intel 3.2 Extreme
Corsair XMS 3200 2GB
nVidia NVS Quadro 280 cards, 1-AGP, 3-PCI
WD 80GB SATA drives -2 mirrored
Windows XP SP2, all latest patches installed
Office XP Small Biz, all latest patches installed (suspect)
PC-cillin 2005 suite (suspect)
Promise Fast Track 378 controller (suspect)
Java V1.5.0 build 1.5.0_04-b05 (suspect)
The problem has occurred with different combinations of software running, including no Java apps running.
