Thanks Annie, remember how small my garden was three years ago and much of it was in the shade:(( Numerous trees have been removed, most by my neighbor.

Truthfully, I had to develop a yoga/strength program because I was not strong enough to do the work. I workout every morning.

In November 2010 I brought in a guy with a Bob Cat and he removed trees, bushes and roots on the east side of my house. He also built a large raised bed which I now use as a raspberry patch. The latter has four inches of wood chips; incredible how many worms are now there.

All of the garden paths are filled with wood chips; much of it 12 inches deep. I rototilled the soil that once comprised the paths and then put the soil into a raised beds. I then added compost, peat moss, limestone and some 10-10-10 fertilizer. The fertilizer was a one-time shot.

My garden now makes me happy when I return to my property; before, I was always depressed.

Thanks for your help,

Eddie
