Neither Chevron, nor any other oil company, has an interest in Methanol. Sure it has a higher octane, which equates to more power. Also equates to half the mileage. There is a reason methanol isn't selling everywhere, and it's not because it's new technology. Nothing new about methanol. If octane were all that, we'd be using isopropanol. It's octane rating is 108.
