Chaperoned a field trip for my son today. I talked to a lady whose husbands biz had a part of the business bought by a larger company. She said, "basically the company bought the assets of a certain part of my husbands biz. There are only 5 partners so they made some money as it was split 5 ways. It was a good thing we werent public or else he would have had to share the asset's profit with the shareholders...". She continued... "The employees involved were transitioned into the new company. They hired some officer to come in and help coordinate the employees moving to new company and the finances involved with the whole transaction. His company was so relieved when it was sold because they were having trouble maintaining the division that was sold. We almost shut it down but we knew it had worth". That was all she said... Thought you all might find some of this interesting...
