A pocket full of coins and AA batteries can get super hot fast. Sweat helps the coins act as a wire.

I learned the hard way. While strolling outside, I felt my thigh get warm, then much hotter. I grabbed the contents and threw them on the ground. Problem solved.

I was quite willing to strip my pants off if Plan A failed.
