I concur with the sentiment in the post.
TSA is needed because there are some really bad people out there who wish to harm us and our interests everywhere in the world. While we seem to be unwilling to wreak havoc upon the sponsors of Islamist jihadist terrorism or stop piracy, we can, at least, perform screenings of our airline passengers.
So.....I commend TSA for their efforts and suggest that they add more competent screeners, more amazing sniffer dogs, and more proper equipment as well as perform profiling on suspected trouble-makers. TSA also should be saluted for avoiding the shoe magazine metal detector produced by IDO Security, Inc.; by not purchasing and utilizing that useless device which has no capability to detect chemical explosives, TSA demonstrates that it trying to apply effective methods to a continuing acute problem. All IMHO.
