kybob, you are wrong. I am retired from service from JSOC and NSW with 25 years of service in Spec Ops, as I so painfully tried to post details of last year before I was shouted down by complete idiots. Go back and read the archives. I do not work for BAE or Ceradyne, although I do recognize their huge market shares of the military ballistic plate contract industry. You would have to be deaf, dumb and blind to miss that, given the hundreds of millions of dollars in Gov't contracts they hold. Yeah, ceramic is far from a perfect medium for ballistic protection, but it is the best there is right now THAT HAS BEEN PROVEN IN COMBAT. And also the reason both companies continue extensive R&D to design and deliver better materials for ballistic protection. Kryron has great potential but has a long way to go before it is going to go anywhere with the military. Anybody willing to stand in front of a live round wearing the Bourque plates and take a bullet? The owner of Point Blank did it many times to promote his product. Can you give a real world example of a LE officer or soldier who's life was spared wearing a Bourque Ind Kryron plate? When you can do so, then you will be cooking with gas.
