I say it's a stretch because I thought the SPOT was using GSAT's simplex data platform which I think is tied in with the GTC applique. Plus it could be an applique tied to GTC UK vs US and it was provided by a company called TraceMyWay.

We specialize in providing asset tracking and monitoring solutions using the extensive Globalstar low orbit satellite network and own a number of unique network infrastructure devices, known as appliqués, which provide the processing technology that enables and powers Globalstar's Simplex Data Service and SPOT tracking devices. Our appliqués are located at a number of satellite ground stations owned and operated by Globalstar and their independent gateway partners. Additionally, GTC operates its own satellite ground station in Easton, MD which is used for R&D, testing and customer demonstrations.
