Dell Progress

Here is some "dot connecting" which would seem to corroborate what Steven said regarding Dell's website during the CC.

reference my post 90147 on 8/6:

Yesterday I spoke with two sales reps in the Dell small business division. Initially I asked general questions about the TPM function in the GX620(neither were very knowledgable). Then, more specifically, I asked about the ETS Dell Edition 1.0 ($19.95) and Edition 2.0 ($58.95) software. I got no where until offering the sku's A0436206 (Edition 1.0) and A0489031 (Edition 2.0). This brought up the ETS description for 1.0 as described in the following link: http://www1.us.dell.com/content/learnmore/learnmore.aspx?c=us&cs=&l=en&s=gen&~id=Sma....

This link now brings up: "The page you requested may no longer exist on Dell.com"

Per maj's post: http://www1.us.dell.com/content/learnmore/learnmore.aspx?c=us&cs=555&l=en&s=biz&~id=....

now brings up information regarding ETS 2.0 with the sku A0489031 as confirmed by the Dell rep.

This is positive movement. Latitudes with 1.2 TPM's can't be far off. Dell gets a good percentage of each ETS 2.0 sold. Thin margins on computers make the "extras" all that much more important to the bottom line. Which do you think will be an easier sell, broad based ETS security software which greatly increases TPM functionality or narrowly focused software such as "Front Page 2003" or "Act 2005" etc? When it comes to TPM software there is only one flavor. The choice is easy.

I can't help but feel that the final arrangements are being made on the "stage" and the TPM 1.2/Wave show is about to begin.

Glad I've already purchased a lot of advanced tickets and won't have to buy at the door!
