If La Jolla needs shares to avoid naked shorting, I have no doubt they have the wherewithal to borrow them...besides they only need do so until Friday.

I have no idea if this is true, but they have the highest motive for holding the stock right here than anyone else at the moment.

One need only watch, as some have, L 2 to see it working.

It is advantageous for them to front load their maximum 4.99% holdings limit at a lower cost basis as much as they can.

They as the culprit, make more sense to me than others hinted at here.

It also makes it much harder to get a more reputable VC into the mix for funding as WW has opined at these prices and edge them out.

The plan works for them as long as the company does not announce the closing of a multi-million dollar deal for anything soon.
