Treasury prices extended gains and the dollar stayed under slight pressure on Thursday after data showing U.S. initial jobless claims were little changed in the latest week at 388,000, while many economists expected a decline. The dollar index (DXY) , which measures the greenback against a basket of six currencies, traded at 79.012, from 79.023 before the data and 79.072 in late North American trading on Wednesday. The euro (EURUSD) traded at $1.3212 , from $1.3220 Wednesday. Yields on 10-year notes (10_YEAR) which move inversely to prices, fell 5 basis points to 1.94%. Still to come is the Treasury Department's auction of 7-year notes (7_YEAR) .
