The number of cd's produced is of no surprise, yes approx. 7 million and/or slightly more or less.
On July 13th we announced we were at the 20 million mark, grand total. ten million as by the end of 2004 and ten million as of July 13th for 05. Therefore, 1st qtr + 2nd qtr + up to Jul 13 production, is near 10 million.
If one was to use the sensibility of past numbers to determine if we will make 145m cd's produced, one would think not, that is not to make that number,
but
this would not be a correct way of measuring whether or not we can achieve this number.
The reality is:
A. 4th quarter is the lion share of the record business.
B. SonyBmg's Hesse clearly states they will be @ a 100% rate of copy prection by the end of the year or begining of 06.
C. The momentum is going our way with Sony/Bmg, we are getting all the releases including the latest trend from Sony specifically.
D. This is with or without apple or the merger.
E. If in fact, Apple recognizes copy-protection, with mediamax ipod ready and the best technology out there...Katy and Sally bar the door we are locked into a huge victory/winner = Revenues/higher valuations(JMO).
F. Legal digital down loads is suddenly, in 2005, a huge business opportunity for mmxt/scmi because of our superior mediamax technological software component, called secureburn. This is huge!
G. Watch Universal very closely on BOTH the cd and digital down load side, this alone CAN put us @ the top, with the number 1 and number 2 record companies.
H. mediamax is international, this will be marketed very soon.
I. Warner, is a huge company...video and audio...pay close attention to them, they are up to speed in copy-protection after San Diego.
J. Koch, They are now the 5th largest record company, lets keep are ears open there, rumor is they like the market leader.
K. Csn is real and big, however the "short term" aspect is in fact coming into question(not under our control).
L. Dark Noise is/will be in clear pursuit, eventually most possibly plugging up the analog hole.
