Global Telesat Corp. Finds Big Growth in Mobile Satellite Solutions

In an economy as overall lousy as the one we've been operating in for the last few years now, it's a surprise to see anybody posting record sales numbers. But that's exactly what happened for Global Telesat Corp., who found itself riding a major market updraft in the field of mobile satellite solutions.

Global Telesat (News - Alert) Corp. offers a variety of mobile satellite solutions, including satellite tracking devices, satellite phones, and satellite broadband airtime. And their products have come into a lot of demand recently, with the ongoing United States involvement in Afghanistan, the recent Middle East uprisings, and a variety of other projects. All these new orders and new applications for their current technology have led to an unusual effect, specifically, that they've posted their best quarterly sales figures since their acquisition by World Surveillance Group Inc.

Even better, Global Telesat Corp.'s increased sales come in following a recent strategy shift to diversify satellite business operations, and do a better job of getting mobile satellite solutions into more users' hands. Given the state of the geopolitical landscape, and Global Telesat Corp.'s slate of offerings, the two managed to dovetail very nicely together and produce some big results.

And considering that parent company World Surveillance Group Inc. produces a variety of unmanned, lighter-than-air UAVs that can carry the hardware necessary to provide satellite communications most anywhere, it's clear they had the right set of offerings to provide services that found themselves very much in demand.

Of course, it would be right to say that a good chunk of Global Telesat Corp. and World Surveillance Group Inc.'s success is the result of being in the right industry at the right time, but still, having a quality product was a clear necessity in such a field, even if conditions were better than normal for the industry.

They certainly have a quality product -- World Surveillance Group Inc.'s President and CEO Glenn D. Estrella described positive feedback from both government and commercial customers, and that they intend to take that positive feedback and turn it into more sales. This is a development that would, if it comes to fruition, no doubt delight shareholders, especially in a global economy where closing sales is now much more difficult than it's been in a long time.
