I'll tell you why I support Assad. I consider that he is the lesser of two evils. What the West plans to do in Syria is to destablize it in order to weaken its resistance to the Israeli occupation. Those opposing Assad are not homegrown protestors, they are shipped in from Saudi Arabia, the extremist head chopper fundamentalists. If Assad falls, these headchoppers will target the Christians and other minorities and either kill them or have them flee the country, just as happened in Iraq.
Also, all the clerics in Syria, Sunni, Shia, Christian are all supportive of Assad. Surprise surprise surprise, this is not reported in the West. Why? Because it would inform people like yourself that what you think are facts are outright propoganda.
Prior to our adventure into Iraq, there were 1.5 million Christians, since then 1 million have fled the so called "democarcy." If that's what democracy is all about, the Christians don't want it, period.
There is a reason why the Maronite Patriarch of Lebanon and every single Lebanese bishop supports Assad and does not want intervention in Syria. They know too well, the plan, and the plan is to chop up Syria, to divide and reduce its effectiveness against the Israeli occupation of Palestine. They support an internal transition, not by a gun or by foreign intervention.
By the way, why is it you never mention Baharain, our ally, that is committing far more human rights violations than anything that could be attributed to Assad. Why no focus on the war crimes daily going on in Baharain, even doctors and nurses are being tortured if they give humanitarian aid to citizens that are revolting against the state.
