Also of intrest might be reading the bio, of "Lucky" Mc Daniel.
He taught a form of point shooting using BB-guns not equipped with sights of any kind. The traing targets were small in size, about 3-3 1/2", and I recall that they had a removeable center-piece...that popped-out to confirm the hit.
Mc Daniels was quite a marksman, shooting scurrying-ants and resting houseflys with a BB-gun fired from the hip.
