Don't very often comment on this board, but can't help myself tonight. This board is very emotional for many reasons. Those that are looking for the pie in the sky and those that are bemoaning the recent downtrend. Are we going to have a trial or are we going to settle?? Are we going to go to $1000.00 or are we going to go to $30.00 or less?? Guys, you are participating in what I used to call a circle F##k.

Some of you defend IDCC to the end, just because, and some pick on IDCC just because. I am in the middle. My feelings are following (as if most you cared):

IDCC is an outgrowth of the old Linkabit company. Dr. Jacobs old company. Their patents are largely (although not completely) a subset of that old company. I am one that questions whether or not they have essential patents and if they do, whether or not they can do anything with them. I really don't know.

Now that brings us down to the where IDCC currently is. And that is, involved with a life long (it seems) lawsuit with Ericsson that will determine whether or not IDCC is a player or not in this new game. My personal feelings is I hope IDCC kicks Ericssons big behind. Logically though, the chances are probably 50-50. Ericsson and the rest of the Euro's (Nokia, Siemens, Alcatel, etc) have had an orchestrated effort to discredit any and all who threaten their leadership in Wireless. They depend on Wireless Tech to offset the lack of any technology in computer technology.

Personally, I don't think that IDCC has many really important patents--if they do I can't find them. That said, I still hope they win their lawsuit and it results in many license agreements. The monetary reward of a win is minor compared to the long term acceptance into the inner circle.

I have been in and out of IDCC for past 3 years. So far, ahead of the game, but my big money will be spent (or not) at the end of the trial (or settlement). There will be a period of 3-4 days after the trial to ride the wave if a settlement or trial is favorable to IDCC.

All right everybody flame me now.
