OT Thought Fodder
Very Preliminary info gathered.
AgES power plant (rough numbers) costs about $1.00/watt. So a 10 Mega-watt plant's price tag would be in the $10,000,000 price range.
The plant will burn about 2.2 tons of dust each hour.
2.2 X 24 X 365 = 20,000 tons of dust.
Fuel needed (Sources ID'd)Combinations are more likely than an individual source.
Hog (wood waste) @ 40% Moisture 34,000 tons
Grass @ 77% Moisture 87,000 tons
Hay @ 25% Moisture 27,000 tons
Straw @ 15% Moisture 24,000 tons
Wheat @ 20% Moisture 25,000 tons
Chicken Manure @ 85% Moisture 134,000 tons
Cow Manure @ 97% moisture 667,000 tons
Saw Dust @ 65% Moisture 58,000 tons
(Cow Manure based on farms where water is used as a slurry agent to move the manure to a settling pond. Not sure yet on the moisture contenr of a fresh cow pie. Any help Chambers? (OBTW, I already know what they look like, smell like, and feel like,)
Wheat produced in my state: 10,000,000 tons per year
Straw: 3,000,000 tons per year
Cow manure in 1 valley alone in the state 1,000,000 tons per year.
Green energy can be sold to the grid for at least $0.05 a kilo-watt-hour or $4,000,000 gross per year.
If $2,000,000 were set aside for hotel loads.
And for estimating purposes only straw was used as a fuel supply and it was bought on the open market @ $45.00 a ton,
Net profit would be $1,000,000 per year
ROI = 10 years.
Still developing a business plan, but the numbers (without looking at the man behind the curtain)are making some of the local movers and shakers sit up and say Hmmm.
Still tracking down fuel sources.
Still too early to tell if this is no more than a pipe dream.
