There is no big conspiracy here. Paperny has released news prior to actual filming in the past. It is their show, they produce it and own it, so they don't answer to anyone, IMO. In fact, it would benefit them the most if they could release news they are filming season 3 as a testament to the show's success (if it were the case). You won't see any bidding wars by networks over a show that only filmed 2 seasons. It's a real shame it couldn't have made its debut in the USA. The outcome would have been much different.
