I thought he was referencing GTC, not a new entity.
"Sales in the pipeline" means nothing. It most likely potential sales they are working on. I would give it more emphasis if he wrote: backlog of sales.

Why does one leave a job if it's good? More money elsewhere. Not happy at current job. A host of possible reasons. But mostly because he wants to advance him or herself.
