"Secure Applications Processor"

The BCM5882 is a highly integrated system on a chip designed to manage the authentication functions of a platform within a single device, including trusted platform module (TPM), contacted and contactless smart cards, biometrics, as well as the capability to run custom secure applications. In addition to reading contactless smartcards, the integrated RFID reader can also function as an NFC reader. All processing occurs within the credential vault's secure boundary, allowing users to keep sensitive key material, credentials, and other security functions out of host memory.

EMVCo Type Approval Level 1 addresses the conformance of Interface Modules (IFM) to the EMV defined set of electrical, mechanical and communication protocol characteristics. EMVCo is pleased to announce the following vendors' interface modules (IFMs) have received EMVCo Terminal Level 1 approval according to EMV 4.0 specifications.
