Catz,
you are correct (as usual), at least in relation to the RETURN of votes. But KCC have issued ballots to shareholders who have been having difficulty with their borkers. Shareholders can use these ballots to show their decision to their broker. They could equally do it via e-mail, fax, phone or whatever. The broker must get the decision (not necessarily a physical piece of paper) back to KCC, via their custodian for Washington Mutual shares. It is the last link in the chain (the custodian??) who must supply a physical master ballot to KCC. Even this, as far as I can see, need not be the ballot paper that has been supplied by KCC. You cannot return the ballot directly to KCC. That is CRYSTAL CLEAR. but from my reading of the process, you can RECEIVE the ballot information and a voting paper from KCC. How you get it back is another matter.
I'm interested in why you say such ballots have been invalid in the past, and as usual I am open to correction.
