IMHO the reason that SWA and other stock newsletters did not cover the PNAS publication is that the publication was of work that was done a considerable amount of time ago. Such newsletters are interested mainly in news about what the company is doing now and what directly affects its commercial prospects. The market has known about Monster Silk for over 15 months now (and that's a later development than the one covered in PNAS) so it's very old news in terms of where the product is in development right now.

It was important because gave a rock solid validation of the work that the company is doing. But it wasn't based on the CURRENT work.

If the upcoming PR's are anywhere near as significant as I suspect they will be, the newsletters will cover it whether paid to or not, because they wouldn't want to miss out on an opportunity to have a success story to brag about. JMHO
