There are about 60 players on the 60 day dl plus numerous players on the 15 day dl. Most of the players on the 60 day dl will be out for the season. At an average salary of 2.6m, the total cost to teams is 156m. This does not include all of the time spent rehabbing, medical costs, etc. If you are able to decrease this by 50-60%, you have substantial savings.
