Google needed patent protection in a hurry after Nortel was bought and MMi offered a quick, but perhaps imperfect solution and yes, Motorala played it well, but Google was desperate so it was an easy game to play.

They must be less desperate now I believe. That does not mean that they do not covet IDCC along with others. The only question is how badly.
