This would be true if their comp is tied to performance. As far as anyone knows, it is not. Based on Mirant, an EC member that gets a board seat can do quite well, regardless of the performance of the stock.

That is a troubling fact.

We should all be pushing for MW's comp to be tied to performance ONLY. If MW foregoes his salary in favor of more shares, he'd have the overwhelming support of all equity - it would prove he believes in the prospects of the reorg company and he will benefit as we do.

His comp structure under Mirant introduces the perception of conflict of interest.
