I have watched these mill closings in the north country for years. They are all the same they close then someone comes along with a plan to save the town, raises a bunch of money, builds false hope, and in a year or two they are gone. Sometimes they are honest well meaning people and they loose all of their own money in the process. Other times they never intended to make a go of it and they take the money and run.
I think this happend about 3 times down the river in Gilman VT. The power dam still churns away but the rest is just not viable.
The town I live in was a one factory town for years, then about 30 years ago a industrial park was opened. We now have dozens of small factories and businesies in the area. The old one factory is still around but in steady decline and will one day close.
Wayne may have good intensions but it is a tough row to hoe. I like the industrial park type aproach but not so sure about the whole green thing. Just think solindra.
