Groveton NH is in a economicly depressed area of the state. In the past few years they have lost the paper mills in Groveton and Berlin, the Ethan Allen plant just across the line in VT is shut down, the Balsams grand resort hotel is under new ownership and closed for at least a year. The logging industry while still viable is seeing lower prices ,even the gun powder factory blew up and is out of business.
For those reasons I am sure there is a lot of grant and low interest loan money available. If Wayne and co. are serious about making things happen then I feel they have a chance. I think Groveton is still served by decent rail transportation, NH rt 3 is a decent highway, and I feel there is still a good work force in the area ,all though many of the more skilled people like mill wrights welders and machienest have move on with their lives.
On the other hand if they are just looking to create a good job for themselves and draw a good pay check untill the money is gone we are doomed to fail one only needs to look at the LLEG biomass energy plant planned for the old Berlin mill site for inspiration. I flipped that one a few times and was able to get out in timesmile Not sure I will be as lucky with MOP frown
