I have learned that spiritual growth depends on a individuals willingness to submit to God's will. Crucifixion of the flesh is the calling of all those who serve Christ. Our desire to obey and please him should override every fleshly desire we have, until that crucifixion takes place there will always be a struggle between the spirit of God and the flesh's will within the believer. Crucify the flesh then the battle in that particular area will be over then move to the next issue, then the next until you look and express the character of Christ alone, from within and ultimately from without.
