Not a bad explanation at all and I'm sure that this is part of the reason.

But this is the cost of FREEDOM. Something we will have to live with until there is a way to tell who is following you or not.
(this is what iHub really needs BTW..but that is a different topic)

Freedom will ALWAYS be taken advantage of by people that lack integrity and the self governing moral codes to stick to their word in a matter.

Thats why we live in a Nanny State.

When I exchange with someone, I do not remove my follow "unless" that person turns out to be a total Jerk.
Plus, ...if I do remove it, I let them know. They can unmark me also if they wish.

This is not all I could say on the matter. But it's all the time I have at the moment.
