I'm sure you are right about the fear.

Even so, for instance, I think in some ways it is more rather than less difficult for rivalrous incumbents to cooperate. And the demands that would be made on a company delivering a non-TCG solution are tremendous. So my guess is that anyone entering the market now is going to be clearly visible within the TCG framework.

Perhaps, as some hope, they will buy their way in. I suspect it would have to be a hostile takeover. And if I remember correctly, Wave has some skunk spray designed for those circumstances.
