A lot of very smart people are short EUR / long USD. And until today the EUR has been remarkably resilient. On CNBC today one of the guests remarked that he covered his Euro short simply because the trade was so crowded and it wasn't working. Obviously he wasn't very happy about today's drop.
I don't know where the EUR is headed, but I can remember a time when the EUR was at parity to the USD. I can even remember when it only took .85 USD to buy 1 EUR.
