I bought a used factory made bi-fuel fleet vehicle just for kicks. It's a GM model, has a tank for each type of fuel, both Gas and Natural Gas. The CNG "tank" looks like an expanded tank for a gas grill. For the ability to travel 100 miles on CNG, I lose nearly all of my trunk space for the tank. I'm sure they could find more room for it if it lost the regular fuel tank. But the differences are striking. The MPG seems to go down using CNG, and the engine is less responsive comparatively with regular gas. I fill it up at the local bus station for cash. There is a gas station next door that has a cng pump tied in to the bus stations equipment, but the pump broke 10 years ago, and they have not been able to fix it. The costs of these pressurized pumps is staggering. The have a building housing a compressor off site on the bus stations property. When that pump connects to the car at the busstation pump and they turn it on, i stand waaay back. You can here the pressurized fuel shoot into the tank like the sound of a balloon blowing up. it's not confidence building to say the least. I'd much rather have a Li-V battery.
