Mystery Train - I'll give it 3.25 of 4 pickles. This is definitely not one for everyone though - especially if you are an action/comedy/violence. I think you are a big fan of Lost in Translation, that this will appeal to you.

For other's here, it's a series of 3 vignettes (sp?) taking place in Memphis that all end up coming together in this seedy hotel. Thie first being a young Japanese couple to see the tourist attractions of the Elvis Memphis years. (I can't believe Sun records is so little). Their increasingly cultural isolation has the same Lost in Translation feel.

The second, the kindness of the Italian woman to the Amerian girl as they escape the creeps. The Italian woman sees Elvis's ghost - which isn't as weird as it sounds.

The last story, of a guy who loses his job and almost wife as he and a couple of buddies (Will Robinson and that character actor who really plays a creepy guy well) go off on drunken violence filled rampage. Wasn't in the right mood for this part.

Glad I watched it. I saw screaming Jay Hawkins. Where was Tom Waits?
