Merritt knows that the Nokia lawyers were listening for anything they could use to dispute the award to IDCC. That is why there was no Q&A session in which he could not control the questions and might make an inadvertent statement that Nokia could use. Personally, I suspect that Nokia might even have planted a questioner to try to provoke such a response. That is how little I think of Nokia. The licensing fees due to Interdigital are immaterial to Nokia, considering their market cap, according to a Nokia spokesman. Why doesn't a reporter ask them why they didn't pay them? Hello Forbes, do you understand why tiny American technology companies have to use arbitration or go to court to protect their IPR?
