Maybe. I'm not even close to a expert, but if they wanted it done they could of had it done by now with the amount of time they had. It makes no sense. If this was my invention and I had all these contracts lined up, also knowing that I would be filthy rich if I just brought this item to market, I would be working on this heater 20 hours a day.

If they need a part, GO GET IT! If they really wanted this, and were completely legit, they would have desire to make it happen.
