dmiller,

IF there was a sale, I'd say 4 billion maybe 4.5 bil and if they were really lucky, 5 bil.

I'm in the camp that has a different view. Using the charts that have been posted here RE IDCC versus Nortel I'm sure we can agree it appears IDCC had more in the LTE area than Nortel?

Add to that Merritt's comment IDCC's patents were deeper and stronger than Nortels and if we believe he has a understanding of patents that should also add some value. Considering he was the head of IDCC's patent house for some time that also should be considered.

Just last week on CNBC the reported number 2 analyst in silicone valley ( sorry I forgot his name) was a guest and IDCC was in his top 3 picks.

Some investors here including you seem to have gave up that there will be a deal or the deal is taking to long or it's going to be valued at what Nortel sold for as you have stated.

At this point IMO IDCC has one of the best portfolios around because anyone willing to buy this portfolio doesn't have to worry about defending any products IDCC makes because we have no products.

Earlier some web site commented if Google bid on IDCC's patents he felt certain Apple/MSFT would also bid if for no other reason than to pizz off Google.

Now since Jobs from Apple has passed the guy who wrote his book expressed ( it was posted several times here) he was willing to spend 40 billion of Apples cash to stop Android.

I don't know if IDCC's patents can resolve Apples issue with Android but the licensing of Apple by IDCC ( even if we got a bad deal) tells me they like what we got because they are not easy to license.
