I use TDA and they always try to get you the best price, most larger brokers do the same, even on your limit orders they will try for a lower buy and higher sale. Most of the time your buy order will show as a sale on the L2 screen and a sale order will show as a buy. L2 screens are somewhat missleading as far as what actualy is bought and sold, Hope that helps you understand.
