Heck, I could have googled that. So when do the 285K shares shorted Thursday need to be covered? So if average daily volume is around 285K, you would divide 285K/285K meaning they have 1 day to cover?

Days to cover is a function of how many shares of a particular company have been sold short. It is calculated by dividing the number of shares sold short by the average daily trading volume.
