On smaller positions in individual stocks, this combination of SAFE and Min. Trade size has worked well. We might miss some of the smaller hills, but the big ones we get and make significant trades when they arrive.

Mr. L had suggested 10% minimums in his last iteration. He'd also suggested less total cash reserve to start. In my case, I still use my market risk indicator to determine the starting cash level. I never liked Mr. L's "one size fits all" cash reserve.
