"Te idea that they won't succeed because they are not already common goes against many thousands of years of technological advances and is not even remotely plausible, IMHO"

that idea does not go against thousands of anything...in fact it is common knowledge...

kblb will need someone to buy their super strong long lasting fiber...the textile industry is where the money is...medicine and sports and all that other stuff is just nonsense...theres no real money there...

the problem is, who in textile will want to make anything out of super strong long lasting fiber?...how about shoestrings?...sounds great...id like to own shoestrings that will last as long as the shoe..as long as it doesnt cost me too much...but the question is, do shoestring manufacturers want to sell you shoestrings that will never have to be replaced?...

they probably would if they can charge enough for them...but then theres the question of what the customer will be willing to pay for them...how much more will someone pay for better shoestrings?...

probably not a whole lot more seeing as how i dont seem to need to replace my shoestrings very much as it is right now..

and thats going to be the situation with everything in the textile industry...just because you can mutate a better product doesnt mean manufacturers will want it...consumers might want it if it is reasonably priced..but they will never get the choice if manufacturers dont buy into it..

oh wait..i didnt take into consideration that mountain climbers will surely want better shoestrings...what was i thinkng?...how could i have forgotten about such a huge market..
