Pure spider silk is not the goal but it IS a milestone.
The goal is to produce a whole range of technical fibers using the silkworm as a production platform.

IMHO you are twisting words to make the absurd implication that pure spider silk is not important to KBLB to support your equally absurd IMHO claim that the announcement of pure spider silk will not cause any increase in share price. Look at a chart of KBLB's SP last year. That huge spike was just from mixed silk, not even pure spider.

What Kim was trying to do IMHO, was to shift the market's attention from its obsession with pure spider silk to the platform worm which is the core of what the company is all about. As big as the potential of pure spider silk is, the potential of the platform worm is many times larger.

(I suspect that many may make the mistake of selling to take profits after a pure spider silk announcement and miss another big spike from the platform worm shortly afterward. Know what you own.)

KBLB does not intend to produce the final products (although it might go so far as to produce and sell the silk as a raw material (unwoven silk). But then I went into all that in my reply to your previous post, all of which you have ignored. So here it is again

Note that no one who knows the science expects KBLB to literally produce the exact same silk as a spider. For one thing the same spider can make up to 8 different types of silk and there are many species of spiders. What's meant by "pure spider silk" is a silk that contains only spider silk protein (and no protein from any other species) and with properties in the same range as spider silks.

No one else has come even remotely close to doing that. Nexia, with all its efforts (before it went bankrupt) was only able to mechanically spin the spider silk protein from its transgenic goats into a silk with 40% of the strength of spider silk which means it was about the same strength as silkworm silk.
