First off, Kevlar is not even used in our vests to stop bullets, that is what the ceramic plates are for, the kevlar is just an insert and covers more areas than the plates for fragmentation.

Replacing the Kevlar with spider silk will make absolutely no noticable weight difference.

The question is and will be: will they continue using the ceramic plates, or make a plate out of a composite of spider silk and koolaid. or just super thick in the front/rear?

If they continue using the bullet-proof plates....there will be no flexibility difference since the plates are where the problem is............ cm

Two words for you LIGHTER and STRONGER.

Wrong, the correct word is "toughness", Kevlar is on average 3 times stronger than any spider silk, including our spider the nephila clavipes. 1.2 gigapascals for spider silk and 3.6 gigapascals for Kevlar.

Another disappointing thing about our government is they don't always go with the better product. Look at the dragon-skin armor.....far superior, and government made up some BS to not let us use it.

(I still haven't seen pascal measurements of darwin spider's tensile strength)
