I agree with your assessment about the entire situation being a joke...Ratings agencies get absolutely no sympathy from me, but even I'll admit that this is all Bullshit...

They make him stand down for doing his job correctly...

When he (& every other ratings agency) didn't do their job's ~at all~ nothing was said and noone was fired...

Now we see how this industry really operates...Do as your told and follow the script...otherwise, tell your story walking...

...nothing's changed on Wall St. or in Washington but the date...
